Beach 67 [A]
Beach 67 [Q52] Beach 74 [Q22]
There’s a bus near Queens Center Mall that goes directly to the beach! Take a look at the Q52 bus route schedule.
As the weather warms, New Yorkers flock to the beaches, leaving behind lots of trash. Additionally, plastics bags and garbage wash in from the ocean. Let’s work together to make sure that trash doesn’t make it back into our waterways, into marine ecosystems, and into our food!
After picking up trash off the beach, those interested will help us create an artistic installation piece out of what we find, with the guidance of Skraptacular founder and a local artist.
Notes for attendees: Bring shoes appropriate for the sand and gloves if you have them handy (gloves will be distributed on the site if you don’t). Don’t forget sunscreen! Coconut water will be provided, but please bring any water/food you might need or visit the nearby concession stands. Public restrooms will be open on the boardwalk.
One lucky attendee will be chosen at random to win two tickets to a Jack Johnson concert!!
WHAT TO BRING
We will provide gloves, bags and crafting supplies. Please wear suncreen, sand-friendly shoes, and clothing that can get dirty. Bathrooms and food will be available at the 86th Street concession stand, should you need food or drink during this time.
HOW TO GET THERE
Getting here is super simple from Manhattan. You can take the A train straight to Beach 67th Street, hop off and walk toward the ocean. If you’re driving, parking will be available on the street.
