Beginning at the Newtown Barge Playground (Greenpoint) at 8am, you will make your 40-mile journey along the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway through Williamsburg, past the Brooklyn Navy Yard, through Dumbo, Columbia Waterfront District, Red Hook, Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, along the Shore Parkway under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, through Sheepshead Bay to Floyd Bennett Field. For the final route, cyclists will travel along the Jamaica Bay Greenway towards the boardwalk at Rockaway Beach. Keep in mind that there are no road closures so participants must be confident riding with traffic.

Once you reach Rockaway Beach, the fun continues with music, complimentary beer and many different types of food along the newly built boardwalk. Marshals and mechanics will be available to support the riders along the route. Rest stops offering restrooms, water, light refreshments and simple bike mechanics will be offered at the Micro Center parking lot on 3rd Ave and 31st St, Sunset Park and Ryan Visitor Center, Floyd Bennett Field.
Alternate starts are available at Owls Head Park (26-mile ride) and Floyd Bennett Field (14-mile ride).
By participating in The Epic Ride, you are supporting Brooklyn Greenway Initiative, the non-profit organization committed to the establishment, development and long-term stewardship of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway. When complete, this 14-mile landscaped route for pedestrians and cyclists will connect neighborhood parks and open spaces from Greenpoint to Bay Ridge.
